Why does your service only support files in IFC format?

IFC is a global standard for data exchange in the building industries. It is a platform neutral, open file format specification that is not controlled by a single vendor or group of vendors. Users of our service have the possibility to use any design software that supports IFC export.

An IFC file incorporates not only 3D geometry but also all the relevant data
relating to the building and its components. This allows the Tridify BIM Publishing Service to detect different types of objects such as doors, windows, etc. Additionally, you get all the information that was originally inserted to the objects, for example, the manufacturer, the construction phase , etc.
