Why do I get a "Post-processing failed" error when I try to publish a Viewer?

Possible causes of the error:

  • Due to a software update, older files in the Tridify BIM Publishing Service may cause problems when publishing them, causing the error “Post-processing failed”. These files must be uploaded again and processed before the viewer can be published.
TIP: If you do not have access to the original file you can download it from our Service. To do this, go to your Project, click the More options menu (three dots) next to your file and select Download original IFC.
  • If some or all of the files fail in the conversion process, it will cause problems when creating a viewer; parts of the model in the viewer may be missing or the viewer creation may fail completely.
Go to your project, click the file name, and then click the Output tab. On the page you can see if there are any files that failed the conversion process. You can try the following work around: Upload your file and in the Process file settings turn off 'Split by storey'. Process the file and create a viewer.

If neither of these is the cause of the error, please contact support.
